Anita’s specialty medium is pastel. She’s a painter of evocative landscapes and beckons the viewer to come closer to contemplate and to feel her story. Anita’s a member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast and the Northwest Pastel Society. Anita focuses on landscapes done in pastel and oil, which are inspired from digital photographs taken along trails on her many backpacking hikes through California and the west.

Anita Started drawing extensively around the age of five, being confined to the indoors due to an early childhood severs asthma. She outgrew her asthma by adolescence and she indulged in outdoor sports to makeup for her earlier confinement. She enrolled in the local college art classes in the community of Palmdale, California and studied with Glen Knowles. Anita moved to Coarsegold, California in 2004 to be close to the beautiful Sierra Nevada that she and her husband loved so much.

Her paintings have won numerous awards and honors including the 2004 American Metropolitan Museum Award at the distinguished
Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club’s 108th Annual Exhibition in New York City.

Anita’s paintings hang in many private collections as well as institutions. She is represented by Kertesz Fine Art Gallery, San Francisco, CA; The Variant Gallery, Taos, NM and Timberline Gallery in Oakhurst CA.
