Dot paints representational watercolors of animals, birds and old buildings are Dot's specialty. Several coats of under-glazing and dry brush techniques give a realistic portrayal of her subjects. Dot's distinctive style is a result of studying with Sidney Kittinger, Jane Burnham, Jane Gyer, LaVere Hutchings and Del Slater.

Dot Morris gained recognition in 1982 when she was selected as the featured artist in the North Fork Artist Pals Art Show, and in 1983 when she presented a one-woman show at the North Fork Library. Awards won in local shows and the Madera County Fair led to commissions and sales at art shows and craft festivals.

Dot has served as a board member for the Guild of Mountain Artists and is one of the founding members of Timberline Gallery in Oakhurst. She has been a powerful force in the promotion and growth of art in the eastern Madera County region.
