Sharon, originally from Toronto, Canada, currently lives in the mountain area near Oakhurst. Her art work is watercolor and for the past 10 years has been focused primarily on this medium.
She first studied with Dorothy Harmes, a Pasadena Watercolorist, then after moving to the mountains, she took watercolor classes from Joan Brumley. While exhibiting at the Brumley Art Gallery in Coarsegold, Sharon also taught children’s watercolor classes.
Sharon studied with many artists, in seminars and workshops including: Jane Gyer, Joan Brumley, Monte Guynes, Diane Astier, Grace Rankin, Lloyd McLanahan, Kay Owen, Mary Campbell-Mann and Moira Donahoe. Various art mediums are used in these sessions: watercolor, pen and ink, pastel, texture paste, acrylic and drawing pencil.
She teaches all year, Beginning Adults and Children’s watercolor classes in Oakhurst; Summer watercolor workshops on Saturdays, and also available for private lessons and commissioned paintings.
Sharon’s award winning paintings has been a part of the Yosemite Western Artists exhibits and the Oakhurst Fall Festival Art Shows over the years. She’s the member of Yosemite Western Artists, Vision Academy of the Arts, Mariposa Arts Council and Timberline Gallery.
