I remember loving to draw even before I started school. When I was in elementary school, growing up in the San Fernando Valley of California, I designed a cover for a May Day Festival program and when my design was selected as the winner, I was absolutely convinced that art would be part of my life. And I was right! My life has evolved around art including receiving a scholarship to attend summer classes at the renowned Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles when I was only thirteen years old.
Art took a back seat for many years because of marriage, work and children. Retirement brought me to Coarsegold, California located in the Sierra Foothills near Yosemite National Park and the freedom to seriously pursue art again. I began painting using oils and acrylics, but I soon discovered pastes with their vast array of beautiful colors; no paint mixing required and no drying time. I discovered I enjoyed the hands-on experience. Literally! To my delight, amazement and surprise, I entered some art shows and have won awards; totally validating that I am in the right place at the right time with the perfect medium.
